Who, or what is your biggest inspiration?
Oh my god so many people.
Can I just say every small business owner and artist that I follow on instagram? Especially the people who put ethics at the forefront of their business. They all are amazing! Being creative and running a business is incredibly rewarding but can be so hard and it's really helpful to know you're amongst an amazing community of people on the same journey. It's a total cop-out of an answer, I know, but I couldn't possibly say just one person
If your life was a feature film, who would play you in the movie?
I would like for Bowen Yang to play me hahaha
What do you want to be remembered for?
Being vocal about the things that matter, standing up for the rights of others, but most of all being kind. It'll be for being weird though, and I'm ok with it 👽
What's your coffee table book?
I don't necessarily have a coffee table book so much as I have an ever-growing pile of books next to my bed that I never get chance to pick up because I'm listening to podcasts about ghosts instead. There's several books by Holly Black and John Wyndham in the stack, along with A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle, which I want to re-read.
Do you have any unhealthy obsessions?
I can't get through an episode of absolutely anything without opening up IMDB to see what I recognise an actor from haha. I KNOW IT'S ANNOYING BUT I CAN'T FOCUS IF I DON'T FIND OUT 👽
Pretty much a first-aid kit. When you're hypermobile you learn to take painkillers and various joint supports everywhere - but also it's full of anti-tory stickers that I can stick over racist/bigoted stickers and graffiti when I spot them
What was your favourite childhood game?
Kerbie!! The hours of fun you could have with just a ball and a kerb. I'm gonna have to play it again on my next day off now.
What is the weirdest gift you've ever given or received?
Ooh, umm this one goes along with a bit of a back story that whilst growing up, my mum swore by Sudocreme for cuts/bites/spots/burns or literally anything. She'd even joke if we had a cold or a sore throat "just put some sudocreme on it". So about 10 years ago she had been really unwell in hospital so to make her smile I painted a picture of a tub of sudocreme with decorative scrolls around it that read "Just put some sudocreme on it" and gave it to her. It did the job and she had a good chuckle. It sounds really insensitive now I'm telling you but I promise it wasn't hahaha.
Name your all-time favourite movie?
It's really hard to pick one, but I could describe my favourite type of film as something a bit weird that's just a bit eerie. "Stoker" would definitely be up there and "We Need To Talk About Kevin". Horror is my absolute jam but they tend to be a little tongue-in-cheek so unfortunately most don't reach "favourite movie" status. Feel free to hit me up and recommend a favourite horror I need to see though! So, if you have any recommends or you feel like treating yourself to some of the most incredible jewellery then get in touch with Riley HERE
