About us...

Being a small business it’s important to know a little more ‘Behind the scenes’, I guess? Particularly with there being so many of the 'big boys' out there, us smaller independent businesses need to shout just that little bit louder.

We're a super small team (to be more precise, 4.5 + a whole bunch of very incredible folk who support everything Junkbox), a family business some would say & that's pretty much the vibe we're bringing y'all. You're our family!

So anyways, here goes... 

Meet founder/owner Carrie; She loves Pizza.

If you follow our socials, you’ll be familiar with Rumi our Chihuahua shaped adventure buddy (the real Boss if we’re being honest) He provides the perfect company for road trips in our trusty Winona (Mazda Bongo Friendee) and our surprise tiny human Elijah (Rumi's boss 😂)

You can usually find us paddleboarding around the beautiful lakes & beaches of North Wales. If not then try anywhere that has banging Coffee, a decent Red Wine on the menu or George Michael on the jukebox will do us rightly! 

Next up we've got Loz. She's the glue!!!

Honestly, the real business woman & the queen of stats!!!

Lauren single handedly took over the whole biz when I went & landed myself in the hozzie for over a month (twice) and was barely phased.

As comfortable with a pint in hand heading up the pub quiz team as she is running a half marathon, one thing this girl knows is how to turn her hand to ANYTHING!

She brainstorms like an absolute boss, is an incredible chef, embroiders the most beautiful canvases, does a mean manicure, walks quicker than anyone I know, is a sneakily great artist, seriously though, this list could go on & on & on...

Then our 2.5 boys Tom, Drew & Elijah. They're real nice boys

Then there's our background...

Coming from a background in fashion retail meant wardrobes (yes plural) full to the brim of trend driven clothes & a walk in specifically for shoes, all 238 pairs organized with polaroid pictures on the boxes for ease of choice (Oh dear god who even WAS I???)

Anyways fast forward to 2013 and Junkbox was born!

Initially to make travel easier, to revive lightweight feelings of freedom & adventure, to breathe fresh air and surf waves of adrenaline without constraint. 

Basically, travel more, but with less! 

The idea was to bring folk high quality, sustainable products, NOT trend driven but created to last. Allowing you to craft the perfect capsule wardrobe of colour-palette balanced mix-&-match clothing and accessories; lightweight & backpack-able. 

And more importantly, stuff you want to wear!

And the serious stuff...

Our impact on the environment is something we take very seriously, sourcing the best sustainable products & fabrics from UK based suppliers and manufacturers such as Stanley & Stella and Wonky Woolies.  

We frequently use GOTS certified organic cotton from India, recycled polyester and acrylic yarn from China. Other credentials include; OCS Blended, OSC 100, GRS and Peta Approved Vegan. 

Working with environmentally conscious companies that lead the way in using renewable resources, circular production and ethical working environments means we can be confident in minimizing our impact on the planet. 

Our supply chain is certified by various independent bodies and standards such as The Fair Wear Foundation, demonstrating our work towards building healthy environmental practices. 

All our orders are dispatched in compostable packaging derived from plant sources & designed to compost with food waste. 

So, for the Skaters, the Surfers, the Adventurers, the Alt Crew, the Scene Kids, the Elder Emos, the Gig Buddies... we love what we do & we hope you love what we make!
